Lotus lounge

Vietnam Airlines has a hub located at the SGN airport in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). The seat is used for both domestic and foreign destinations. Vietnam Airlines’ Lotus Lounges are located in this hub. The domestic terminal at SGN has a Lotus Lounge that is available to business class passengers flying domestically. Passport control makes it difficult to switch between domestic and international airports.

Bottom line: At the domestic terminal of SGN, you can spend some time in the Vietnam Lotus Lounge before your flight. The lounge is spacious, has plenty of seating, and offers a decent buffet. It was surprising that the Domestic Lotus Lounge at SGN didn’t seem very crowded, considering how many domestic flights there are within Vietnam. The SGN Domestic Lotus Lounge was great, and I would definitely recommend it.

Lotus Lounge SGN Domestic Airport Location

There are two terminals at the SGN Airport: Domestic and international. The Lotus Lounge of Vietnam Airlines is located at the end of the Domestic Terminal next to Gate 1. You will also find signs throughout the terminal directing you to the Vietnam Airlines Lounge.

The agent told us that we could use the Lotus Lounge because we had business-class tickets for Da Nang. The lounge is still open even though the flight is a domestic Vietnamese one. I was quite impressed.

Lotus Lounge SGN Domestic Terminal Seating and Layout

The Vietnam Airlines Lotus Lounge at the SGN domestic terminal is divided into two major spaces. This is the bigger of the two areas. It contains a lot of tables, a buffet, a bar top, and a bar area.

The seating on the other side is more lounge-style seating. This is the side of the Lotus Lounge where we settled.

There were also cafe tables around the buffet.

We settled in the area with lounge chairs. We chose this area because it was close to the window.

Lotus Lounge SGN Domestic Airport Buffet

The Lotus Lounge’s buffet was a great choice for a domestic lounge. This is the midday buffet. I don’t know if the menu changes throughout the day. We are here for lunch, so it’s hard to tell. The cold food was served with bread in this part of the buffet. You can also add your toppings to the hot soup section.

You can also choose from a variety of cold salads. Vietnam has a lot of greens that you can serve with your hot meals.

The buffet ended with a lot of hot dishes. The lounge staff was very attentive to the cleanliness of the buffet.

Both of us ended up with pretty similar food. Val’s lunch consisted of glass noodles stir-fried with shrimp and fried tofu.

Lotus Lounge SGN Domestic Airport Bar and Drinks

A self-service cooler was located along the back wall. There were mostly soft drinks, but also Vietnamese beer.

Lotus Lounge SGN Domestic Airport Amenities

The bathrooms were located in a hallway near the Lotus Lounge entrance. There were also some additional amenities available. There is nothing revolutionary here, but it’s a good selection for a domestic airport lounge.

Lotus Lounge SGN Domestic Airport View

We got a good view of the gate 1 at SGN. While we were in the lounge, the gate was empty. SGN is an airport that has a lot going on, but it also uses remote bus gates. There are only a few jet bridges at this airport to serve many more flights.

Lotus Lounge Domestic Terminal SGN Final Thoughts

The Lotus Lounge at the SGN Domestic terminal is solid. It’s not the best in the world, but it’s very good. SGN is the domestic hub of Vietnam Airlines, and access to the Lotus Lounge, which is open for all business class passengers on flights within Vietnam, is granted. The lounge was available for less than an hour. I would not want to be at the airport any earlier.

The Lotus Louge’s domestic buffet was excellent. Before our flight to Da Nang, we were able to grab a light lunch. There are not many drinks at the bar, but plenty of soft drink options. There are plenty of seats and a few planes outside. The lounge was never crowded, but it was very busy. There are many departures from Ho Chi Minh. The Lotus Lounge at Vietnam Airlines is a great place to visit if you can. Just don’t stay too long.
