Don’t Miss This: 2018 Fringe Festival Edition

Here comes Adelaide’s busiest – and certainly most vibrant – time of year… The Adelaide Fringe Festival! As performers take to the streets, as the pop-up bars are prepping for happy hour and as the crowds are gathering, it’s easy to let some of the best and brightest events pass you by. Not to worry – we’ve broken down a few ideas on the best places to visit this Fringe season!

Fringe Gin Garden

Electra House, 131 King William Street, Adelaide
Open Monday-Saturday from 11am 

Electra House takes takes their first step to becoming a Fringe venue by presenting the first Fringe Gin Garden event in 2018! The showcase will feature 22 different varieties of gn over the span of a month, with $8 G&Ts available everyday. Enjoy some of Adelaide’s local heroes including Settlers, 78 Degrees and Applewood – along with some outstanding options from around Australia and the world!


The Junction – Friday Frenzy

470 Anzac Highway, Camden Park
Open Fridays from 5pm

Friday nights just got a whole lot better at The Junction! Enjoy Happy Hour from 5-7 pm along with live entertainment, raffles, free bar snacks, meat trays, drink cards and even a cash jackpot starting at $500! Join in on all the fun it’s on every Friday night during the 2018 Fringe season. Why not stop by and grab that well deserved after-work drink?! 


Royal Croquet Club

Pinky Flat, North Adelaide
Open Wednesday-Friday from 4pm, and Saturday-Sunday from 11am 

What’s the Fringe without the Royal Croquet Club? The huge mix of performers, bars and food trucks, tied into one snazzy venue with open skies and gorgeous surroundings. As one of the biggest venues during the Fringe (in size and crowds) the venue has upgraded previous years’ Boom Box stage to the Big River Hotel – ready to host a hot list of acts including Thundamentals, Hermitude, Mansionaire and Adelaide’s very own Motez. Word is, 2018 is going to be the Royal Croquet Club’s biggest season yet!   


TJ’s Bar & Grill

82 Kintore Avenue, Adelaide 
Open Wednesday-Friday from 5pm, and Saturday-Sunday from 1pm

Kicking off the Fringe by taking the pop-up bar to the streets, literally! TJ’s Bar & Grill is the nifty transformation of ‘bendy bus’ into a bar – complete with rooftop seating and access to 3 bars of craft beer, fine wine, spirits and (of course) great food. The line-up of local acts also makes for great entertainment as you spend the night in this little slice of paradise, without having to escape the city. The Tap Shack is sure to satisfy all your craft beer cravings, along with other crowd favourite concoctions. 


The William Bligh – Thursday Sessions

Looking for something to do on your Thursday night? Well, the specialists in the rum department are offering over 50 varieties of the kind! Each Thursday night for the duration of the Fringe, the William Bligh will showcase great local talent with a different act every Thursday evening. So sit back, relax and take in the good vibes to prep for the weekend. Explore your taste buds in this quaint boutique bar – we guarantee you’ll find your new favourite beverage.
