Royal Croquet Club
- Pinky Flat, North Adelaide
Last Updated: October 2, 2018
The Royal Croquet Club has made its return this year at the 2018 Adelaide Fringe Festival! Running for the entirety of the season from Friday 16 February – Sunday 18 March.
The biggest Fringe venue and the official Adelaide Fringe Festival hub, the Royal Croquet Club is located for another year running at Pinky Flat in North Adelaide (between Adelaide Oval and the River Torrens). The new home allowed them much more freedom to do what they do best – live music, more booze and longer nights, open as late as 3am on Fridays and Saturdays.
The Royal Croquet Club originally opened in December of 2013 for a short stint during The Ashes, before moving to the revamped Victoria Square for the Adelaide Fringe Festival in 2014. Without doubt the most buzzed about venue to pop up for Fringe season since opening, the Royal Croquet Club has been a raving success throughout its short stints, attracting big crowds both day and night. Expect long lineups that can sometimes see you waiting 1 to 2 hours to get in – but its worth the wait every time.
Unlike some of the other Fringe venues, the Royal Croquet Club has a heavy focus on live music; the boombox stage has been given an upgrade, now referred to as the Big River Motel. With iconic acts such as Hermitude, Thundamentals and more, what is not to get excited about!
You’ll find pop-up bars and restaurants within the pop-up bar itself, along with some of the best live entertainment during Mad March.
