In November 2017, Supermild announced its closure via Facebook. “With a very heavy heart I have to tell you that Supermild is officially no more,” owner Sam Lisy, AKA ‘Mama Supes’ posted. “I was a few minutes late to court yesterday and in my absence, the court ordered my company to be wound up….the liquidators have wasted no time and we are out.”

While we’re sad to see such an iconic Adelaide club shut its doors (again, following its closure in 2015 and reopening in 2016), we can only hope that it’s premises will make way for a new Adelaide venue to set-up shop. Watch this space for any developments…

Once a popular venue in Adelaide’s west end, Supermild experienced a revival at it’s new home of 73a Hindley Street – across the road from the Sheesha Lounge and next door to the Hotel Grand Chancellor. Closing its doors in 2015 following the expiration of their lease, Adelaide’s alternative crowds embraced the renewed and rejuvenated bar that was a favourite at its original home for 13 years.

In its prime and up until its closure, this underground was often busy, staying open late on nights when other venues didn’t. The very small and dark venue played a variety of tunes, from jazz to dance and grunge.
